Three supply chain management (SCM) students, Molly Dwyer, Dylan Raulerson, and Joey Smith, represented Georgia Southern and the Parker College of Business in an academic challenge sponsored by the Intermodal Association of North America (IANA) and the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, FL. The team was given a case study dealing with strategic sourcing and shipment routing decisions for a large retail supply chain. They worked under time-pressure to analyze decision alternatives, develop recommendations for the case company, and present their work to a panel of industry judges.

Molly, Dylan, and Joey continued a tradition of SCM teams from Georgia Southern earning outstanding recognition by placing 3rd among eight IANA Scholar schools (CSU Maritime, SUNY Maritime, Arkansas, Maryland, North Florida, North Texas, and Wisconsin-Superior). Participating teams also experienced a tour of one of Crowley’s marine terminals and a keynote discussion with Joseph Hinrichs, president and CEO of CSX.
