Change
of Major
A
student desiring to change their major will be classified in one of the
following three categories.

Requirements:
- If you became
a Pre-Business student between and including Summer Semester 2000
through Summer Semester 2004 and wish to exit Pre-Business and declare
your BBA major, you must meet the following conditions:
- have completed
the ten courses listed below with no grade lower than "C",
and
- have an adjusted
GPA of at least 2.33 in these ten courses.

- If you became
a Pre-Business student before Summer Semester 2000 and wish to exit
Pre-Business and declare your BBA major, you must complete the following
requirements:
- complete Areas
A, B, C, D, E, and F of the Pre-Business Core Curriculum
and
- have a minimum
adjusted GPA of 2.0 in Area F only
and
- have a minimum
adjusted GPA of 2.1 overall
or
- you may opt
to use the new requirements listed at the top of the page.
Procedure:
- Come to the
COBA Student Services Center (Suite 1100) during the semester in which
you are taking the LAST of the above listed classes. Long lines and
other delays can be avoided if you come by the office BEFORE early
registration for the following semester begins.
- Complete and
sign a "Change of Major" form declaring your BBA major.
- Sign a "Schedule
Adjustment Notification" form listing the Pre-business courses
you are currently taking.
- An academic
advisor in the COBA Student Services Center will verify your courses
and grades. If the advisor determines that you are eligible for BBA
status, the advisor will remove any "Major Restriction or Class
Restrictions" courses so that you will be able to register.
- After grades
are posted, your request to declare your major will be evaluated and
the "Change of Major" form will be processed. CHECK YOUR
POST OFFICE BOX AT THE LANDRUM CENTER for formal notification of your
change of major status and the name of your new advisor.

Change
of Major from outside COBA to Pre-Business
If you are currently a student with a major outside of the College of
Business and wish to be a Pre-Business major, a simple process must be
completed.
- Go to your current
department and complete a "Change of Major" form.
- Have your advisor
sign the "Change of Major" form as the releasing advisor
and obtain your academic folder.
- Bring both the
signed "Change of Major" form and your academic folder to
the COBA Student Services Center (Suite1100).
These
steps must be taken before the COBA Student Services Center staff will
be able to assist you.

Change
of Major from inside COBA to another discipline
If you are currently a student with a major inside the College of Business
and wish to be a major outside of the College of Business, please complete
the following process:
- Come to the COBA
Student Services Center (Suite 1100) with your Eagle ID and complete
a "Change of Major" form.
- Have an academic
advisor in the COBA Student Services Center sign the form as releasing
advisor and release your academic folder to you.
- Carry the "Change
of Major" form and your academic folder to your new department.
