James Randall, DBA, professor emeritus of marketing, joined the faculty at Georgia Southern in 1982. Prior to his retirement from fulltime teaching in 2005, Randall achieved a wide range of academic accomplishments in teaching, scholarly activity, and service. He was the recipient of the Professor of the Year Award, the Georgia Southern University Award for Excellence in Service, the Business Executive Society Service Award, The William A. Freeman Professor of the Year, College of Business Top Researcher of the Year, and Rutherford Award for Excellence in Teaching and Service in the MBA. His professional service includes the creation of the Association of Marketing Theory and Practice and the Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice as well as the National Conference of Sales Management. Randall continues to teach the traditional MBA strategic marketing course, professional selling, and principles of marketing on a part-time basis.
