Biography

Steve Charlier is a professor and chair of the Department of Management at Georgia Southern University. He held a variety of managerial positions in the information technology/consulting, automotive, and entertainment industries prior to joining academia. He has been a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) since 2003, and has consulted with a number of organizations, including various federal government agencies and non-profits. Steve’s primary scholarly interests are focused on the impact of technology on the modern work environment, and include virtual teams, e-learning, leadership in the computer-mediated space; his secondary area of interest is in management education. His research has been published in Journal of Applied Psychology, The Leadership Quarterly, Human Resource Management, Academy of Management Learning & Education, and several others. Steve’s research has also been featured in popular press outlets like Forbes, Inc., Entrepreneur, and the BBC. He is a former associate editor for Human Resource Management and Academy of Management Learning & Education and currently sits on the editorial boards for four academic journals.
