BBA-Logistics and Intermodal Transportation and BBA-Management in Operations
Logistics and Intermodal Transportation (LIT)
Logistics and Intermodal Transportation (LIT) is a degree program that leverages the University’s proximity to the Port of Savannah and Hartsfield Jackson International Airport. LIT serves the needs of dynamic industry sectors. Logistics involves ensuring the availability of the right product, in the right quantity and the right condition, at the right place, at the right time, for the right customer, at the right cost. Intermodal transportation is combining the cost and/or service advantages of more than one mode of transportation in an efficient, seamless product movement.
A degree in Logistics and Intermodal Transportation prepares students for the many jobs available in this challenging and rapidly expanding field. Basic LIT courses focus on logistics and transportation concepts and principles. Advanced courses focus on logistics operations, international logistics, and intermodal distribution issues.
Scholarships & Financial Aid
Each year, logistics scholarships are awarded to students on the basis of classroom performance, professional potential, and financial need.
Financial support for the scholarship program is provided by the Georgia Ports Authority, Transportation Club of Atlanta, the Atlanta Maritime Association, Propeller Club of Savannah, Savannah Maritime Association, Georgia Foreign Trade Conference, and the Savannah Traffic Club, among others.
Student field trips are a unique feature of the LIT program. Recent tours have included visits to the Georgia Ports Authority, Wal-Mart Distribution Center, and The Home Depot Distribution Center. The LIT program also benefits from its relationship with a number of industry organizations. Each year, students are selected to participate in national and regional conferences and meetings.
