Arda Yenipazarli, assistant professor of operations management, earned his Ph.D. degree in operations management from the University of Florida (UF). He joined the faculty of the Department of Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Georgia Southern University (GSU) in 2012. He currently teaches core operations management and business statistics courses at GSU. Prior to teaching at GSU, he also taught courses in operations management and business systems at the UF as a doctoral student. Yenipazarli’s teaching interests include operations management, production and service operations economics, new product development and innovation, sustainable operations, and international operations and logistics.
His primary research interests are in the areas of new product development, green supply chain management, sustainable technologies, and inventory management and theory. Yenipazarli’s research investigates the profitability and efficiency of green operations launched in order to comply with environmental legislations and/or translate corporate sustainability liabilities into profits. His research has also implications for policy makers concerned with designing efficient environmental legislations. Yenipazarli’s dissertation research examines green product introduction implemented in response to the changing rules of consumer markets, and in order to reduce a company’s environmental footprint while simultaneously increasing its profitability and market share. His recent research have been published in European Journal of Operational Research, International Journal of Production Economics, Annals of Operations Research, International Journal of Production Research and Operations Research Letters.
Yenipazarli serves as an ad-hoc referee for Decision Sciences Journal, IIE Transactions, European Journal of Operational Research, Naval Research Logistics, International Journal of Production Economics, Omega, The International Journal of Management Science, Optimization Methods & Software, Journal of Global Optimization and Optimization Letters. He is a member of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), The Section on Energy, Natural Resources and the Environment (ENRE), Manufacturing & Service Operations Management Society (MSOM), and Production and Operations Management Society (POMS). He served as the treasurer of Junior Faculty Interest Group (JFIG) of INFORMS between 2014 and 2016, and in the INFORMS Student Affairs Committee between 2015 and 2016.
