Biography

John J. Hatem is a professor of finance in the Department of Finance and Economics at Georgia Southern University. He requests that his students: Ask questions, read with comprehension, think, use their imagination, prepare, and maintain their integrity. He affirms the importance of an educated and independent-minded citizenry for the proper functioning of American society.

Recently read publications include I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, by Maya Angelou; Extreme Ownership: How U.S. Navy Seals Lead and Win, by Jocko Willink and Leif Babin; and parts of the introduction to The Princeton Companion to Mathematics, edited by Timothy Gowers, June Barrow-Green, and Imre Leader.

He has been successful at consciously manipulating DNA transcription to repair a medial meniscus tear or simply wore the bone down thereby alleviating the pain. Current research focuses on rebuilding the atrophied vastus medialus oblique and sartorius muscles. He also writes “stories” for finance journals.
