Sahar Bahmani is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Georgia Southern University. Dr. Bahmani joined the faculty of Georgia Southern in 2008. She earned her Ph.D. (2007) and her M.A. in Economics (2004) from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee. She completed her undergraduate degree in 2003 at the University of Wisconsin at Madison in both economics and political science.

Prior to coming to Georgia Southern, she was a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater (2007-08) and an instructor at the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee (2003-07), Milwaukee Area Technical College (2003-07), and Ottawa University (2006-08). Her research focuses on topics in macroeconomics, monetary economics, economic development and growth.
