Dr. C. David Shepherd
Professor of Marketing and Director of the Center for Excellence in Sales and Sales Management

David Shepherd serves as Professor of Marketing in the Department of Management, Marketing, and Logistics at Georgia Southern University. Dr. Shepherd received his Ph. D. in Marketing at the University of Tennessee. Before beginning his academic career, Dr. Shepherd worked in sales and sales management positions in the information technology industry. Dr. Shepherd's primary research areas are personal selling and sales management and health care marketing. David is currently serving on the Editorial Review Boards of the Journal of Personal Selling & Sales Management, Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice, and Marketing Health Services. He also currently serving as Proceedings Editor and on the Board of Directors of the National Conference in Sales Management. Dr. Shepherd has been active in numerous leadership roles in the American Marketing Association's Sales Special Interest Group, including Program Chair and Communication Chair. Dr. Shepherd has provided consulting and research for a wide range of organizations including Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, Erlanger Health System, UT Medical Center, and ddN Advertising. Along with their love for Tennessee and Georgia Southern football, David and his wife Kathy enjoy biking, hiking, and many other outdoor activities. Their son Chaz is well known for his T-ball prowess.
