What Do Accountants Do?

A better question may be what do accountants not do? If it involves business, then it involves accountants. Funny enough though, with an accounting degree, your options go far beyond the business world. No longer is accounting a job that requires sitting behind a desk for 9 hours a day. Accountants are people oriented, meaning that we solve problems. Many times solving these problems require getting to know someone, their business, their needs, and their wants. Being an accountant allows you to provide these people with a valuable professional service, while at the same time meeting their specific needs.

Majoring in accounting can also open up many doors that you never thought were possible. Many accounting graduates go on to pursue careers in law, law enforcement, politics, education, and government work, such as with the FBI. By obtaining your degree in accounting, you are opening up doors to a world of opportunity for your professional career.
