• July 9 Last day to withdraw without academic penalty, Term B

• July 14 Last day of classes for Long Term

• July 15 Final Deadline for University System of Georgia full-time employees to apply for the Employee Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) for Fall 2009

• July 15-16 Final exams, Long Term

• July 22 Last day of classes for Term B

• July 23 Final exams, Term B

• July 31 Final deadline for domestic graduate students to apply for Fall 2009 graduate admission

• August 17 Classes begin

The Director of our Center for Forensic Studies in Accounting and Business Don Berecz was interviewed by Anne Rosivach who wrote a lengthy article titled “Georgia Southern's College of Business Administration takes lead in offering educational tracks in fraud and forensic accounting." Georgia Southern University Students Train To Stop Financial Fraud

Congratulations to Dr. Stephanie Sipe! Her article titled "Maximizing student learning through Enron: The ultimate B-Law case study" has been accepted for publication in The Journal of Legal Studies Education.

Drs. Jill Lockwood and Leslie Fletcher's manuscript "Recent changes in the charitable contribution deduction rules" was accepted for publication in Practical Tax Strategies. Congratulations, Jill and Leslie!

Ms. Abbie Gail Parham was featured in a "News from the IMA" column about her emphasis on the CMA track for accounting students.

According to a recent salary survey by the Nat'l Assoc. of Colleges and Employers, starting salaries for business graduates on the average rose 11 percent to $36, 634. Salaries for marketing majors rose 5.2 percent to $35,698, accounting graduates rose 4.5 percent to $42,005, and economic and finance majors rose 4.4 percent to $40,413.
