July 3 Independence Day Holiday Observed – Administrative offices closed – No classes

July 9 Last day to withdraw without academic penalty, Term B

July 14 Last day of classes for Long Term

July 15 Final Deadline for University System of Georgia full-time employees to apply for the Employee Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) for Fall 2009

July 15-16 Final exams, Long Term

July 22 Last day of classes for Term B

July 23 Final exams, Term B

July 31 Final deadline for domestic graduate students to apply for Fall 2009 graduate admission

August 17 Classes begin

SOA News

  • Drs. Jill Lockwood and Leslie Fletcher's manuscript "Recent changes in the charitable contribution deduction rules" was accepted for publication in Practical Tax Strategies. Congratulations, Jill and Leslie!
  • According to a recent salary survey by the Nat'l Assoc. of Colleges and Employers, starting salaries for business graduates on the average rose 11 percent to $36, 634. Salaries for marketing majors rose 5.2 percent to $35,698, accounting graduates rose 4.5 percent to $42,005, and economic and finance majors rose 4.4 percent to $40,413.
