Helen G. Stembridge is a 1978 graduate of Georgia Southern with a BS in Education. She began her career with Atlanta Gas Light Company in 1978 working in various marketing and sales positions in the Macon Division. In August 1997, due to her experience and track record in working with residential builders and developers, Helen was recruited by Wachovia to head the newly formed residential construction lending department in Macon. Through October 1998 she held the position of Assistant Vice President/Construction Loan Officer with Wachovia. In October 1998, due to her prior experience in the natural gas industry, she was recruited by SCANA Energy, a leading natural gas marketer, to serve as Manager for the Macon Region. Today Helen’s role as Regional Manager has expanded to include Central and South Georgia encompassing the metropolitan areas of Augusta, Macon, Savannah, Brunswick and Valdosta. She represents SCANA Energy in marketing, community relations and legislative and regulatory affairs. SCANA Energy is a unit of SCANA Corporation, a Fortune 500 Company based in Columbia, SC. SCANA Energy is one of the largest natural gas marketers in Georgia, serving more than 475,000 customers. Helen has been active in community affairs throughout the state and currently serves on several boards which include the Central Georgia Chapter of the American Red Cross, The Better Business Bureau of Central Georgia and the CSRA, and the Home Builders Association of Georgia. She is a 1984 graduate of Leadership Macon and served as president of Leadership Macon Board in 1994. She also served as president of the Junior League of Macon in 1999 and Board Chair for the Central Georgia Chapter of the American Red Cross in 2005. Helen resides in Macon
with her husband Asbury where they are active in Forest Hills United Methodist
Church. They have two children Laura and Asbury, III.
