Mardie Herndon was named EVP and Retail Line of Business Manager for SunTrust Bank, Georgia on August 1, 2007.

Prior to his promotion in August, he held the position of President & CEO, SunTrust Bank Savannah. Prior to relocating to Savannah in early 2007, he served as President and Chief Executive Office of SunTrust Bank, Middle Georgia from 7/1/02 to 1/2/07. Mardie joined SunTrust Bank in October 2001.

Mardie is a 1991 graduated from Georgia Southern University with a BBA in Finance.

His Middle Georgia community activities include serving as Foundation Board Member for Central Georgia Technical College, 2005 Chair United Way of Central Georgia Board of Trustees, Member Mercer University Stetson School of Business Board of Visitors, Board/Executive Committee Member NewTown Macon, Board Member Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce, Mercer Forum Steering Committee Member 2004-07, Board Member Community Foundation of Central Georgia, Board, Board Member of MedCen Foundation & member of Macon Rotary Club.

Since moving to Savannah in Spring 2007, Mardie was elected to the Board of Trustees United Way of the Coastal Empire.

He and his wife Jennifer have three daughters.
