Programs of Study
Degrees pertaining to the retail world are critical offerings in the College of Business because, whether students realize it or not, a large portion of them will be employed in the retail world…statistics indicate that one in five Americans work in retailing. The Marketing Department and Center for Retail Studies have worked closely together to develop several options for students who know they want a career in retailing to better prepare them for their futures. Degree options include:
Marketing major with an Emphasis in Retail Store Management
The emphasis in Retail Store Management provides a well rounded business education. It follows the outline of the general marketing degree but replaces some of the general marketing electives with required marketing courses. These courses address retail specific issues as well as consumer behavior.
Marketing major with an Emphasis in Fashion Merchandising
The Fashion Merchandising emphasis is designed to provide the student with a broad knowledge of business and marketing while stressing the areas of fashion and retailing.
