| Sales Simulations and the Sales Lab It has been suggested that there are two types of knowledge, “knowing about” and “knowing how.” At Georgia Southern our students learn about selling in the classroom from faculty with real world sales experience, and active sales research agendas. To teach how to sell we utilize role-play sales simulations. In these sales simulations students play the role of salespeople making sales calls. By participating in these sales simulations our students have the opportunity to: a) apply the concepts they are learning in class, b) learn to adapt to changing realist selling situations, and c) see the selling process in action. Currently, our sales simulations are conducted in the Sales Lab located in COBA 3319A/B. The Sales Lab has been designed to provide a realistic office setting for the sales simulations. The Sales Lab is equipped to allow students to videotape and analyze their performance in the simulation. In the fall of 2008
we plan to be opening our new Sales Center facilities. Our new facilities
will provide five Sales Labs and the ability to capture the sales simulations
with the latest in digital technology. Click here for a preliminary drawing
of the facilities that will be located in COBA 3319A/B.
