LIT Scholarships

Applications for the next year's LOGT scholarships will be available in early February. Please contact Dr. Steve Rutner at (912) 681-0511 for more information on the scholarship program. All students majoring in LIT are encouraged to apply for these scholarships.

We would like to thank our Transportation Advisor Board members for their dedication to the program. Thanks to their efforts, we awarded more than $10,000 in scholarships each of the last ten years. Special thanks go to the following organizations for providing annual scholarships to our program:

• Eagle Logistics for its new $1,500 scholarship for either a minority or female LOGT student 

• Propeller Club of the United States Port of Savannah, $2,500 for The Gustave R. Dubus, III Scholarship

• Atlanta Air Cargo Association for its endowed scholarship fund that is nearing the $25,000 mark to kick-off awarding student grants.

• Savannah and Atlanta Traffic Clubs for their on-going support with multiple scholarships.

We welcome contributions of any denomination for the scholarship program. Please contact Dr. Steve Rutner (912) 681-0588 for more information on making a contribution or establishing a named scholarship.

One sad note was CSX choice to end The CSXI / McNeal Porter Scholarship. Mr. Porter has retired from CSX Intermodal and recently passed away. We want to thank both Mr. Porter and CSX for all of their past support. They have contributed not only to our scholarship fund, but also greatly to our program by hiring our graduates. We look forward to continuing our relationship with the CSX family.
