Welcome to the Center for Retail Studies, established in 1989. I am please you found the site and invite you to contact me with any questions you may have. The Center was established to serve students who wish to persue careers in retail management and to support retailers through research, service, and educational programs. The Center for Retail Studies, housed in the College of Business Administration, continuously searches for strong students interested in pursuing a career in any aspect of retailing. The Center serves business majors through a B.B.A. in Marketing with an emphasis in Retail Store Management or Marketing with an emphasis in Fashion Merchandising. A minor in Retail Store Management to serve students majoring in other disciplines is in the developmental process. Retail Point of Sale is offered as a second discipline to students majoring in Information Systems. A new initiative for the Center is to provide opportunities for students to gain additional exposure to the dynamics of the retail environment through attending conferences geared toward practitioners rather than just the academic world such as trips to New York City to attend the National Retail Federation show and conference each January. To properly support both majors and minors, we also seek business partners for the Center. These partners can play a variety of roles. To determine how you can become involved as a student, business, donor, volunteer, or other interested party, click on any of the links listed on the left side of the page, send me an e-mail or give me a call in the Center at (912)681-0348. I look forward to hearing from you!
