Bureau of Business Research and Economic Development
The Bureau of Business Research and Economic Development (BBRED) is a division of the College of Business Administration (COBA) at Georgia Southern University. BBRED plays a vital role as a campus leader in economic development outreach in the 58 county region served by Georgia Southern University. BBRED serves as an essential link between the local, state, national and international business communities and the intellectual and creative resources of the University and the College of Business Administration.
Center for Entrepreneurial Learning and Leadership
The Center for Entrepreneurial Learning and Leadership is a new and developing center for entrepreneurship started at Georgia Southern University in 2008 and it seeks to “contribute to the economic and social well being of Statesboro and surrounding counties through entrepreneurship education and venture creation.”
Center for Excellence in Financial Services
The Center for Excellence in Financial Services is a business center within the College of Business Administration. The Center provides services to financial service companies, as well as business and civic associations involved in banking, risk management, insurance and financial planning. In addition, the Center coordinates the internship program for Finance majors and assists in student career planning and placement upon graduation.
Center for Forensic Studies in Accounting
Our comprehensive 10-course curriculum positions the School of Accountancy as a national leader in forensic accounting education. The curriculum provides graduates with the knowledge and skills needed to uncover illegal activities such as securities fraud, tax scams, embezzlement, and money laundering.
Center for Retail Studies
The Center for Retail Studies serves business majors through a B.B.A. in Marketing with an emphasis in Retail Store Management or Marketing with an emphasis in Fashion Merchandising. A minor in Retail Store Management to serve students majoring in other disciplines is in the developmental process. Retail Point of Sale is offered as a second discipline to students majoring in Information Systems.
Publications and Research
The Office of Publications and Faculty Research Services provides printed products and faculty support services for the College of Business Administration and is responsible for producing the Eagle Executive and Southern Business Review, both of which can be accessed online.
Center for Sales Excellence
The Center for Sales Excellence was established to support and promote our students in pursuit of Sales and Sales Management careers. The Center is housed within the College of Business Administration, serving business majors through a B.B.A. in Marketing with an Emphasis in Sales and Sales Management. Through the activities of the Center, students gain experience with sales role-play in our 3-room lab, and many go on to compete at the National level in competitions. The Center also works to bring sales students together with many companies who are looking for talent.
Small Business Development Center
The Georgia Small Business Development Center enhances the economic well-being of Georgians by providing a wide range of educational services for small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs.
