Marketing Alum Appointed to Technical College Board

Governor Brian P. Kemp recently announced the appointment of Douglas H. Lambert (MKTG, 1971), founder of Southeastern Hospitality Services Inc., to the State Board of the Technical College System of Georgia. Doug replaces retired Statesboro banker Tommy David.

Doug has had a long and dedicated career in the hospitality industry. Before founding Southeastern Hospitality Services, Inc., he spent 25 years at Franklin Equities, Inc., where he led the operation of several hotels and restaurants across the southeast.

A certified hotel administrator with more than 55 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Doug has served as president of the Statesboro Convention and Visitors Bureau and Ogeechee Technical College Foundation and chair of the Georgia Hospitality and Travel Association, Statesboro-Bulloch Chamber of Commerce, and the Coastal Workforce Services Board and currently serves on the board of the Development Authority of Bulloch County. Doug is the 1994 recipient of the American Hotel and Lodging Association’s Lawson Odde award for contributions to the lodging industry, the 1986 Georgia Hotelier of the Year, the 1997 Georgia Southern University Parker College of Business Alumnus of the Year, and Statesboro Rotary Citizen of the Year in 2022.
