ProBid is an opportunity for local businesses to learn about the needs of larger entities and find out how to submit higher quality and more competitive bids to win larger contracts. Georgia Southern’s City Campus began the ProBid series in April 2013 for entrepreneurs, business owners and residents interested in learning how to contract with government and private entities. Participants learn about the types of services managed and commissioned by different private and public sector agencies, policies of doing business, certification and application requirements, bidding processes and upcoming requests for proposal (RFPs). ProBid has featured many of the region’s largest entities including: Georgia Department of Transportation, Gulfstream, Georgia Southern’s Procurement Department, East Georgia Regional Medical Center, City of Savannah, Bulloch County Government, City of Statesboro, City of Metter, and East Georgia State College.
Marshall Tuck of Gulfstream talks to attendees about doing business with the organization.
