Global Entrepreneurship Week at City Campus

The Georgia Southern City Campus will be hosting Global Entrepreneurship Week November 18th-21st, 2013. Global Entrepreneurship Week is the world’s largest celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch start-ups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare.

Global Entrepreneurship Week at Georgia Southern City Campus

The week will be filled with presentations, discussions, panels, and mixers all free of charge and open to the public. The goal of this empowerment week is to inform and equip potential self-starters and innovators for success.

Each day of the Global Entrepreneurship Week is catered to a specific theme ranging from Creative entrepreneurs, sustainopreneurship, business development, financing and investing, and youth entrepreneurship. We encourage everyone willing to gain knowledge about starting and sustaining a business to come out, get empowered, and to network!

Events include:

Monday, Nov. 18th:  Creative Entrepreneurship – featuring a panel of local entrepreneurial artists followed by an arts mixer at the Averitt Gallery.

Tuesday, Nov. 19th: Sustainopreneurship – featuring a panel discussing social and sustainable entrepreneurship, and having a business with a cause.

Wednesday, Nov. 20th: Developing Entrepreneurs – featuring lectures on innovative ideas, accounting, legal, insurance, marketing and other topics new businesses need to know.

Thursday, Nov. 21st: Financing New Ventures – featuring a ProBid session, panel on crowdfunding and bank investing, and a “Business After Hours” event at Sea Island Bank.

Friday, Nov. 22nd: The Innovative Spirit of Youth – featuring local speakers and college groups working with area youth to capture entrepreneurial spirit.

These events are examples of programs Georgia Southern;s City Campus will provide for incubator clients. City Campus will be opening their Innovation Incubator sometime in fall of 2014. This incubator will be equipping the entrepreneurs with educational programs, mentors, and other skills and tools needed to be successful. City Campus is excited to be a part of building an innovative entrepreneurial ecosystem in southeast Georgia.
